Dubai Business School at the University of Dubai invites applications from qualified candidates for the position of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in Economics, with an anticipated start date in Spring or Fall 2026.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• A Doctorate (PhD) from an accredited institution at the time of appointment
• A demonstrated record of high-quality research publications and teaching excellence in Economics or a closely related field
• Practical or industry experience relevant to the discipline is an advantage
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

The ideal candidate will also demonstrate:

• The ability to actively engage students through innovative teaching approaches that align learning objectives, content, and assessment
• Experience and/or strong interest in the use of diverse pedagogical methods and digital learning tools
• A record of research publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus
• The ability to initiate, secure external funding for, lead, and execute research and development projects
• Experience in establishing and sustaining partnerships with businesses and industry relevant to the discipline
• Evidence of contributing to society through research-based knowledge, innovation, and commercialization of research outcomes
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional networks at national, regional, and international levels
• Motivation to contribute to academic development and interdisciplinary collaboration within the University
• Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to contribute positively to a collegial and constructive work environment

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Maintain an active and productive research agenda
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Economics, as assigned each academic year
• Supervise and mentor students, and contribute to student recruitment activities
• Participate in School and University service activities
• Initiate and develop projects aligned with the University of Dubai’s vision and strategic priorities
• Undertake other academic and professional duties consistent with the role
