Manager of Information Technology

The University of Dubai (UD) invites applications for the position of Manager of Information Technology, a senior leadership role responsible for driving the University’s digital transformation and supporting its academic and administrative mission. Preference will be given to suitably qualified UAE Nationals.

The successful candidate will hold a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline, preferably with a PhD, and will have proven experience managing IT services within a higher education environment. The postholder will provide strategic leadership for the development of UD’s IT infrastructure and systems, with a strong focus on digitalization, artificial intelligence, smart campus solutions, smart classrooms, smart examination systems, and technology-enabled teaching and learning.

The Manager of IT will lead the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise IT systems that support learning, research, and administration. A key priority will be to enhance online and blended learning, integrate AI-driven solutions, strengthen cybersecurity, and ensure reliable, scalable, and future-ready IT services across the University.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement UD’s IT and digital transformation strategy aligned with the University’s strategic plan.
  • Lead initiatives in smart campus, smart classrooms, and smart assessment/examination systems.
  • Drive the adoption of AI, automation, and data-driven decision-making across the University.
  • Support and expand online, blended, and technology-enhanced learning platforms.
  • Ensure effective IT governance, cybersecurity, and data protection.
  • Manage IT staff, budgets, vendors, and major technology projects.

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, preferably with a PhD.
  • Senior IT management experience within a university or higher education institution.
  • Demonstrated expertise in smart campus technologies, smart classes, and digital/online examination systems.
  • Strong strategic vision with proven leadership in digital transformation and AI-enabled systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and change-management skills.
