About the Project

Project: SYNERGY-PD – AI-Powered Digital Twin for Parkinson’s Disease Diagnostics

The SYNERGY-PD Project is a 3-year initiative developing an AI-enhanced digital twin platform for neurodegenerative disease diagnostics. Funded by the Dubai Future Foundation, it unites neuroscience, data science, and AI to build a novel clinical decision support system.

Role Overview

The GRA will assist in early-stage research activities across literature synthesis, data annotation, and system testing. This role suits graduate students eager to contribute to impactful biomedical AI projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform literature reviews on biomarkers, agentic AI, and digital twin technologies.
  • Annotate and preprocess data from clinical partners for model training.
  • Validate prototype dashboards and user interfaces for digital twin modules.
  • Support academic dissemination through poster development and paper drafts.

Required Qualifications

Educational Background:
• Enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.

Technical Skills:
• Familiarity with AI/ML basics and scientific writing.
• Experience using Excel, Python, or data annotation tools.
• Basic understanding of neuroscience or healthcare datasets is a plus.

Soft Skills:
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits.
• Effective communicator and team collaborator.
