About the Project
Project: SYNERGY-PD – AI-Powered Digital Twin for Parkinson’s Disease Diagnostics
The SYNERGY-PD Project, funded by Dubai Future Foundation’s RDI Grant, is a cutting-edge initiative developing an AI-powered digital twin for precision diagnostics and monitoring of Parkinson’s Disease. Led by the College of Engineering and IT at the University of Dubai, the project integrates biomarker analysis, AI-driven modeling, and real-time patient simulations for enhanced clinical decision-making.
Role Overview
The Postdoctoral Researcher will be a core contributor to the scientific and translational dimensions of SYNERGY-PD. This role demands advanced expertise in biomarker analytics, AI pipelines, and human-centric digital twin systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead isolation and profiling of α-synuclein isoforms and other neurodegenerative biomarkers from neuron-derived extracellular vesicles (NDEVs).
- Co-develop AI pipelines for multimodal data integration using Agentic AI techniques.
- Contribute to the design of patient-specific digital twins including real-time simulation and calibration.
- Coordinate validation efforts with clinical partners (UPDRS scoring, DaTscan imaging).
- Co-author high-impact publications, support patent filings, and present at conferences.
Required Qualifications
Educational Background:
• PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, AI in Healthcare, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
• Experience with molecular biomarker analysis and EV isolation.
• Knowledge of machine learning and data fusion methods in clinical settings.
• Proficiency with Python, R, MATLAB, or equivalent research tools.
• Familiarity with clinical data interpretation, neuroimaging, and AI modeling.
Soft Skills:
• Strong writing, presentation, and scientific reporting skills.
• Collaborative mindset for interdisciplinary research.
• Interest in clinical translation and healthcare impact.
Why Join Us?
- Be part of a nationally funded AI-healthcare initiative with real-world clinical impact.
