The College of Law has two programs namely Master of Laws (LLM) program and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) program in collaboration with the University of London.
As part of the LLB Program’s expansion and enhancement, we are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Professor of Law to join our esteemed faculty. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vibrant academic community and shape the future of legal education.
Job Purpose:
In line with the LLB Program hiring plan and to further strengthen our teaching and research portfolio, we are seeking to recruit a new faculty member with PhD in law. The successful candidate will:
1. Fill the current faculty manpower gap.
2. Teach University of Dubai LLB (UDLLB) courses, contributing to the academic growth of our students.
Qualifications & Competencies:
• Educational Background:
Ph.D. in Law from a recognized institution.
• Research & Academic Excellence:
– Demonstrated record of research output appropriate to the position.
– Specialist knowledge in Civil Law and/or Islamic Law is highly desirable.
• Teaching Expertise:
– Proven pedagogical skills in teaching law.
– Experience teaching law at the university level is desirable for Assistant Professors.
• Communication Skills:
– Excellent oral and written communication abilities in English.
• Collaboration & Teamwork:
– Ability to work collegially and effectively within a team environment.
• Curriculum Development:
– Competence in developing and designing curriculum and program documents.
• Administrative Skills:
– Ability to conduct academic administrative tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching & Assessment:
– Deliver high-quality teaching and assessment of UDLLB courses.
– Teach select University of London (UoL) courses as per program arrangements.
2. Student Support:
Provide academic advice and guidance to undergraduate students, fostering their academic and professional growth.
3. Research:
Conduct legal and pedagogical research, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the field.
4. Program Development:
– Assist in the development and enhancement of the LLB program.
– Improve and develop new modules within the undergraduate curriculum.
5. Community Engagement:
– Engage in community service activities in alignment with University of Dubai policies.
6. Grant Acquisition:
– Explore and secure research grants that support the overall development of the University of Dubai.
