Assistant/Associate Professor in Data Science

Job Summary:
The University of Dubai’s College of Engineering and IT is seeking a highly qualified and motivated faculty member for an Assistant/Associate Professor position in Data Science. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, and service activities in alignment with the university’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and industry collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Curriculum Development:
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Data Science, AI, Machine Learning, Big Data Analytics, and related fields.
• Develop and update course materials to reflect the latest trends and advancements in Data Science.
• Supervise student projects, theses, and dissertations.

Research & Scholarly Activities:
• Conduct high-impact research in Data Science and publish in reputable peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
• Secure external research funding and lead research projects in collaboration with industry and government entities.
• Participate in interdisciplinary research and innovation initiatives.

Service & Engagement:
• Contribute to curriculum development and accreditation processes.
• Engage with the academic community through participation in committees, program reviews, and faculty meetings.
• Build industry partnerships and collaborate on real-world projects that enhance student learning and research impact.

Qualifications & Requirements:
• Ph.D. in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Strong research record demonstrated by publications in high-ranking journals and conferences.
• Experience in teaching Data Science courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
• Expertise in one or more areas: Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Data Analytics, AI Ethics, Big Data, or Cloud Computing.
• Industry experience or collaboration with industry partners is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to fostering a dynamic learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in developing and delivering online and hybrid courses.
• Knowledge of accreditation requirements such as ABET or CAA (UAE).
• Ability to integrate AI applications into real-world industry challenges.
